FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 22, 2010 (New Orleans, LA) The Terminal Apron Rehabilitation project will cause a shift in flight patterns at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
The Terminal Apron Rehabilitation project has closed a portion of the Airport's main east-west taxiway. The closure has modified aircraft taxi routes and Runway 10 will be used as a departure runway. Residents to the east of the Airport in Kenner and Metairie may notice increased flight activity in that area over for next several weeks. This is a temporary deviation from the normal operating procedures and is being done for safety considerations.
This phase of the apron construction began earlier this week and is scheduled for completion by October 29, 2010.
