Long-Term Airport Development
New Orleans, Louisiana

The City of New Orleans, through the New Orleans Aviation Board (NOAB) and in coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), intends to undertake the following proposed actions at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (Airport):

Develop a terminal building on the north side of the Airport (to include 30 gates, retail space, baggage claim area, ticketing, a security screening checkpoint, parking facilities, and other ancillary uses)

Provide two access routes to the new terminal building

Abandon TaxiwayD, extend Taxiway G to the east to Taxiway S, and develop a new apron associated with the new terminal building

Relocate existing electrical vault and FAA airport surveillance radar (ASR) facility

Pursuant to the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and FAA Order 1050.1E, Change 1, a Draft Environmental Assessment (Draft EA) will be prepared for these proposed actions. The Draft EA will describe the proposed action and the impacts associated with the implementation of the proposed action. The NOAB is holding a Public Scoping Open House for purposes of providing the public with an opportunity to discuss the proposed actions and to providing input into the issues to be discussed in the Draft EA. Together with other scheduled scoping meetings, these meetings will constitute the scoping process for the Draft EA. In the event that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required by the FAA, these scoping meetings will serve as the scoping session for the EIS. The Public Scoping Open House will be held at the following time and place:
