 View Document

The Airport is working hard to provide a wider variety of air travel options and destinations from New Orleans. With 14 airlines providing non-stop service to 54 destinations, we are at an all-time record high. Through sagacious decisions and hard work, we have been able to keep costs down for airlines to operate at Armstrong International, which has been vital to the development of these new routes.

This year, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport has already announced four new destinations and additional service to several existing destinations by our airlines. This new service benefits our community by providing more competition and service to new markets.

Allegiant Air, an ultra-low cost airline, announced starting three new destinations from New Orleans this year – Jacksonville, St. Petersburg-Clearwater and Tulsa. Service to Florida's Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) and St. Petersburg–Clearwater International Airport (PIE) begins in April and service to Tulsa International Airport (TUL) in Oklahoma begins in May. Allegiant offers ultra-low fares to popular vacation destinations like New Orleans and with each new flight added here at Armstrong International, an additional 15,000 people are expected to visit our City each year. When making your travel plans, please visit Allegiant's website at as reservations and tickets are only available directly from their website.

Spirit Airlines unveiled two new flights from New Orleans to the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). Both flights will operate once per day starting in April. Spirit Airlines is an ultra-low cost carrier known for their low cost "Bare Fare” that allows passengers to choose and pay for only the additional services they need. As Spirit continues to see success with this business model, we hope to see them, and others alike, establish new routes from Armstrong International in the future so that passengers have good low cost options in traveling to many wonderful destinations. Starting in April, Frontier Airlines will launch non-stop service to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) three times a week and Orlando International Airport (MCO) four times a week. Frontier has a history of on-time flights with signature "Rocky Mountain Hospitality." GLO's vision is to provide comfortable and convenient travel that connects regional destinations throughout the southeast with direct, nonstop routes.
