#HurricaneFrancine Update: MSY continues to monitor weather conditions. The Airport will remain open unless conditions become unsafe. Individual airlines determine if or when to cancel or delay flights. As of now, over 140 flights into and out of MSY today have been canceled.
In order to minimize delays in processing through the check-in counters, passengers who need to reschedule flights should work with their airlines to rebook before coming to the Airport.
Passengers with travel scheduled in the coming days are encouraged to check directly with their airlines for the latest flight information. Airline contact information can be found at www.flymsy.com/airlines. ... See MoreSee Less

Hoping tomorrow morning the airport will be open, if it closes.

Info that is 8 hours old. How is this called “monitoring” and “up to the minute” info?
It’s infuriating that the airlines wait until the very last minute before cancelling. We had an 11am flight scheduled this morning from Atlanta to New Orleans. Wasn’t cancelled until AFTER we took a $69 Uber to the airport. Right when we checked in at 930 at the airport, they cancelled the flight until tomorrow morning . So we then had to pay for another wasted Uber ride home. They couldn’t have cancelled that flight early this morning…before everyone arrived at the airport?
