We’re continually evolving to meet the needs of our Customers. That’s why we’re excited to announce some big changes designed to enhance your Customer Experience—still delivered with our same Southwest Heart:

✅ Assigned seating (expected to become bookable in 2025)
✅ Premium seating options (expected to become bookable in 2025)
✅ Red-eye flights (now available for booking on swa.is/4c1dQdk!)

The research is clear and indicates that more than 80% of Southwest Customers prefer an assigned seat. These changes come as a part of our ongoing commitment to enhance the Customer experience, including faster WiFi, new in-seat power, larger overhead bins, and more comfortable seats.

For now, it's business as usual - we're working hard to meet Customer expectations and expect seating changes to become bookable in 2025.

We look forward to welcoming you onboard with the same Southwest Hospitality that you know and love. Learn more about these upcoming changes: swa.is/4cVnAY2

Boo. I like the promptness of the boarding process on Southwest of find a seat & take it. All Southwest is going to do is up their costs & charge customers more money with this future arrangement.

All good until Mr or Mrs I haven’t take a shower in 3 days seats next to you, and you can’t switch seats!!

Stupid decision, I liked having the choice to avoid people taking up a seat and a half to sit in an empty row all to myself.

I love it! Open seating was great 30 years ago. Now, with every flight a full flight it doesn’t work. So glad I can start flying SW again. And please , add big premium economy seats up front

The investors wanted this. I am totally against it.

Sad day for those of us that use Southwest Airlines for the current seating…..

Well I must be in the 20%. I don’t agree. But, I suppose you have to follow the other airlines 🙄

This is the way it was years ago. 🎉👍

🤬

Who did they include in this research? Who did they ask? It must be the investors that only got to have a say so.

Good. It’s not a damned Greyhound bus but it sure seems like it. Maybe board from the back as well?

Sad day for loyal Southwest Airlines customers 💙💔💛

Bad move

Finally!

🗣️There’s not a star in heaven that we can’t reach

man who made this post man i wanna meet them😭🙏🫶

why pander to the old people. lol

Please do not fly with SouthWest Airlines. My recent experience with them was truly dreadful. Customer Service was awful, delayed for 20 hours & I & my wife (a disabled veteran) were forced to sleep overnight in the airport and they refused to provide accommodation. Do NOT fly SouthWest Airlines. Heartless. #southwestairlines 0%

5 mile radius for limiting a plane to taxi to the terminal!? Really?? Clear as day all around for over 15 minutes and because your radius encompasses 5 miles even though theirs not lightning in the immediate area we have to stay stuck on a plane. I get it for taking off, but if we are already landed and just need to connect to a terminal then restrictions should be way less. What a joke.

Southwest Airlines is the best. And we ain't lying.😁

I never got into High School Musical.

Only now we are to be restricted by Southwest Airlines unveiling pre-flight seating assignments. Whack

Millennials?? Gen Z too!

A global technology issue is impacting several airlines across the world today, and many airlines at Louis Armstrong International Airport are experiencing delays as a result. Each airline is making decisions about their flight operations based on their individual impacts. Passengers are advised to check directly with their airlines for the most up-to-date information and be prepared for possibly longer wait times.

Some concessions in the terminal are also impacted by the outage. The concessions operators are working to get systems up and running again so they may resume service as soon as possible.

😮 WoW, as they say… u ain’t seen nothin yet! This will happen more often, watch n see. Welcome to the crazy world we all live in today!

following - i have a 2:45pm flight today Update - it was just delayed to 4pm. MSY to LGA

Unrelated but you guys need to have a better system for the parking garage. Now we know to reserve several days ahead but we were monitoring the amount of spots and the amount listed is not correct !!! It said there were 100 + spots available and when we show up the garage is temporarily closed.

Hopefully they get these outages done soon, but I read something on the news. It’s only for Delta in American and I always fly United. In August, it will be my second time using Delta Airlines.

My mom flew out of MSY early early this morning she is now in ATL her and her friend have a flight out of ATL this afternoon will they have problems? Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport

Hope everything will be better later my daughter has a flight to Houston and then Rio.

Dropped my sister off for her flight back to Atlanta. The flight showed delayed, however, not it shows cancelled. She is stuck there with everyone else without any answers

What about Southwest

My children have a flight Sunday afternoon. Will they be required to check in early?

How are things now?

Are things back to normal yet?
