Henrietta Brown, A.A.E., Earns Professional Airport Accreditation

Joins elite group of airport executives who have completed

all requirements of 67-year-old program

NEW ORLEANS –Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) announced today that Henrietta Brown, A.A.E., Deputy Director of Aviation – Finance and Administration, has been awarded the distinction of Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

To qualify for this distinction, Henrietta had to successfully complete three phases of the accreditation process: (1) pass a 180-item multiple-choice examination or submit proof of an advanced degree, (2) fulfill a writing requirement, and (3) demonstrate, in the final interview by a panel of A.A.E.s, her knowledge of airport management, business administration, and general transportation economics. Henrietta’s achievement attests to her ability to meet these stringent requirements and her experience in managing a public airport.

“I am pleased to see the hard work Henrietta put into achieving this accreditation pay off,” said Kevin Dolliole, Director of Aviation. “This A.A.E. distinction underscores Henrietta’s already evident commitment to not only the New Orleans Airport, but the entire aviation industry.”

By fulfilling all the requirements leading to the title of Accredited Airport Executive, Henrietta joins a select group of individuals who have earned the designation in the nearly six decades of the accreditation program’s existence. At present, just under eight percent of AAAE’s eligible members throughout the country hold the distinction.

As MSY’s Deputy Director of Finance and Administration, Brown is responsible for the finance, accounting, concessions and other administrative divisions of the Airport. She participated on the bond transaction teams for the one of the new parking garages as well as two cost-savings bond refunding transactions. Brown has more than twenty years of finance and administration experience, with 12 of those years at mid-size airports in progressively responsible management roles.
