New Orleans Airport Executive Erin Burns Featured in

Airport Business Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40

 

NEW ORLEANS –Airport Business Magazine announced today that Erin Burns, Director of Communications for Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY), was selected as one of the top 40 aviation professionals under 40. This award, established by the magazine in 2012, features leading young individuals who have shown initiative in their field and have made an impact on the aviation industry.

Burns has served as the Director of Communications at MSY since January 2018, with direct responsibility for the Airport’s media relations, social media, marketing, website, branding, external and governmental relations. Erin led marketing initiatives for the historic opening of MSY’s new, $1 billion airport terminal in November 2019, which received a total online news audience of 31.6 million and an estimated value of $2.06 million over the course of one month.

 

Through her leadership, MSY was awarded the 2020 Best Overall Public Relations Program recognition for Medium Airports at Airport’s Council International-North America’s (ACI-NA)’s Excellence in Airport Marketing, Communications, and Customer Experience (MarComCX) Awards. Additionally, Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) New Orleans Chapter presented MSY with 5 awards in 2020 and 3 awards in 2021.

 

Additionally, in 2021, she was elected to serve on the Steering Group for aviation industry trade association ACI-NA’s Marketing, Communications & Customer Experience (MarComCX) Committee.

 

This is the eleventh year of the Top 40 program. Many past honorees are now leading major institutions and projects of the aviation industry due to their dedication and recognition for their valuable skills.
