New Orleans Airport Opens New Military Lounge

Serving Active-Duty Military Members and their Families

NEW ORLEANS – Today, the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) celebrated the opening of its new Military Lounge. Located in a convenient pre-security space on level 3 of the terminal, the Military Lounge provides comfortable accommodations for active-duty military members and their families at no charge.

“It was important for us to create this space for our active duty service members so they can be comfortable during their travels,” said Hon. Michael Bagneris, Chair of the New Orleans Aviation Board (NOAB). “Our nation’s military members make so many sacrifices for our country, and we hope this new amenity can help make their journeys a bit easier.”

In addition to the daily stresses and duties of life in the military, many service members may be traveling far from home or on their way to their next duty station or deployment. The Airport hopes to help ease the travel journey with this new amenity for our nation’s active-duty service members.

Amenities such as complimentary snacks, comfortable seating, charging stations, and TVs are available in the lounge. It is staffed by volunteers and open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“We are so proud to offer this new amenity to the brave men and women of our nation’s military who put their lives on the line to keep us safe,” said Kevin Dolliole, Director of Aviation for MSY. “Special thanks to our volunteers and staff who worked so hard to get this space up and running. I know it will be truly valued by our military community.”
